Word of Knowledge

In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul lists words of knowledge as manifestations of the Holy Spirit. These seem to be instances of someone knowing something that they have no way of knowing – a special revelation from God.

There is a story in the Gospel of John in which Jesus demonstrates a word of knowledge when he is talking with a Samaritan woman. With no natural way of knowing this, he tells her that she had had five husbands. Later, she goes into her town and tells everyone to “come, see a man who told me all I ever did.”
