The Bible contains stories of people experiencing inner healing.
Genesis contains a remarkable account of Joseph displaying forgiveness to his brothers who had previously assaulted him and sold him into slavery. Having seen God at work through these events, he is no longer traumatized by them, but sees how God has used them for good, and is able to sincerely forgive and love his brothers.
The book of Daniel contains a dramatic story of King Nebuchadnezzar, who was formerly the greatest king in the known world, being restored to his right mind after a period of insanity.
The Gospels of Mark and Luke also record a story of a man tormented by demons being restored to his right mind by Jesus.
